Paris Graduate School of East Asian Studies
Scholarships for Master 1 and Master 2 students
Academic year 2023-2024

The SMARTS-UP program of Université Paris Cité aims at promoting the internationalization
of Master’s courses and attracting the best foreign students. For 2023-2024, 100 grants of
8,000 € are available for incoming foreign students in the various Master programs.
Candidates should submit their application online between the 1st of December 2022 and the
15th of January 2023 (17:00, Central European Time). For detailed application guidelines,

Conditions:
– This call is not open to French citizens (binational or multinational applicants with a French
citizenship are not eligible).
– Students must be newcomers to a French university. Foreign students must not hold a French
national higher education diploma.
– Students applying to the Master 1 program must hold a foreign degree equivalent to a French
Licence.
– Students applying for a Master 2 must hold a foreign degree equivalent to a French Master
1.
– Students must be French-speaking (most of the teaching is in French), minimum level B2.
– The grants are awarded for one year, with a possibility of extension for a second year of the
program in case of high academic performance during Master 1.
– Students outside Europe must register for Master Program via the Études en France platform
(https://pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr/etudesenfrance).
