The Research Grants Council (RGC) of the Hong Kong University Grants Committee has established the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) with the objective of promoting world-class research in Hong Kong. The Scheme’s objective is to admit and support the most promising students worldwide, enabling them to pursue their doctoral studies in Hong Kong for a period of three years. Our Department extends an invitation to interested students to apply for this scheme, which will allow them to join our PhD programme in Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

The Department’s research interests are divided into four distinct disciplines: Chinese Linguistics, Ancient Documents, Classical Literature and Modern Literature. Students are encouraged to pursue doctoral studies in these areas in accordance with their individual academic interests.
