The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Gothenburg has announced a doctoral position with focus on research relating to „fundamental democratic values regarding freedom of thought, opinion, expression, and religion“. The call is open for all doctoral subjects at the Faculty, including Sinology. I and my colleagues would be very glad to welcome an application in Sinology so spread the word! We currently have one doctoral student doing a thesis on criminal gangs in Republican Shanghai, but Sinology in Gothenburg ranges from classical to contemporary studies.
