Charles University, Faculty of Arts, Department of Political Science offers a full-time temporary (2-year) researcher position (senior level, with PhD) with a specialization on the political economy and geopolitics of East Asia. The researcher will be part of a research team analyzing the geopolitical vulnerability and resilience of supply chains in East Asia, with a particular emphasis on Taiwan. The researcher is expected to perform research tasks related to identifying the risks to semiconductor supply chains stemming from geopolitical disruptions, macroeconomic developments (such as the rise of protectionist policies), as well as other disruptions resulting from political, security-related and economic developments. The researcher is expected to perform research tasks concerned with applied research, providing strategic recommendations to policy makers, as well as to contribute to academic debates and to publish his/her academic research in leading journals. Applicants will be asked to perform limited teaching duties in their area of expertise (estimated 1 course per semester) and to cooperate on research activities within a wider research team. The applicants are also expected to prepare grant applications within their area of expertise and provide policy expertise through policy papers and stakeholder involvement.
