Jiří Hudeček

    Jiří Hudeček graduated in Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, Charles University in Prague, and in Transportation Engineering at the Czech Technical University. He has a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from University of Cambridge and was in 2007-2012 the first holder of the Soon-Young Kim Studentship in the History of East Asian Science and Technology of the Needham Research Institute in Cambridge, UK.

    His main research topic is history of science, especially mathematics, in ancient and modern China. From 2012, he has been investigating the project “Deconstruction and construction of national traditions a science in China“. He is currently serving the 2015-2019 term as Secretary of the International Society for the History of East Asian Science, Technology and Medicine.
